Creative years

    A. Einstein graduated from the Zurich polytechnic school in 1900 with award, but he was allowed teaching there. Einstein missed the lectures and had his own opinion upon all the problems. Professors didn't like him - they seemed to believe that he knew nothing in physics. Nobody even thought that Einstein had been studying their works individually - his creative years already started. Weber, professor of physics, didn't give him any recommendations characterizing Einstein as a good teacher in universities. That time Bern's patent bureau was a very prestigious place for earning for life. And it happened - Einstein found the job - his friend's father Grossman gave him references and the latter was taken to occupy a position of an expert practice in Bern's patent bureau. However, Einstein had to pass a very diverse examination. And only then he was listed as a technic expert practice of the third grade. His salary was 3500 francs a year, that is, 300 franc a month. Einstein found this sum very small for living arrangements but there were no other ways of job placement and he had to take the position. This was the main reason for searching an extra job to keep soul and body together. It should be noticed that there were no lack of students who wanted to know physics and mathematics at those time. Einstein was optimistic by nature and tried to find at least some minutes to enter upon his favorite subject - physics. He used to say that his expert practice in Bern's patent bureau was truly a kind of awe to him in his early years. Einstein was very thankful for having met such prominent scientists as E. Kristopher, A. Sthodola, P. Weis, G. Weil, V. Pauli and others who had influenced his hard life.
